This past weekend I was given the huge honor to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Society of Photographic Education's 2016 national conference. It was an amazing experience not only to learn from some of the greats in photography, but to be able to explore and travel in a new city. As I was shooting I realized that I wasn't going to be able to pack all of these images into one post. I decided to focus on three different aspects of my shooting in three separate posts. This first post is all about the street performers of Fremont Street. Fremont Street homes some of the oldest hotels in Las Vegas, as well as some of the old neon including Vegas Vic. It was very intriguing to watch some of these people work so hard just to have a snapshot taken of them and move on. My favorite of the bunch Eric, aka Elvis, had been performing on Fremont Street for almost 15 years and makes a living off being an Elvis impersonator. He said to me that he wouldn't take back a single day of doing what he does, because of how many people he meets from all over the world everyday.
